The Bachelor of Ministry – Theology Track is 39 Hours – Total Hours Required 120

Designed to challenge students to think theologically about the foundation of their faith and the contemporary challenges facing the church.  Students will be ready to pursue careers in professional ministry or as a lay minister, including working as non-preaching associate pastor or with church organizations. Graduates of this degree will also be prepared to further your education in graduate-level theological or biblical studies.

Required Track Courses:

TH-3103 – History of Evangelism II

Focuses on the elements of true outreach and evangelism and how they should function in the life of the believer. Discussed are practical guidelines for crossing traditional barriers and effectively communicating your faith in Christ.

TH-3113 – Doctrines of Christian Faith I

A presentation of the key doctrines of the Christian faith. Designed as a core text for introductory courses in Christian theology and doctrine.

TH-3123 – The Identity of Jesus

Jesus and His claims are the heart of Christianity. The four Gospels are the most significant sources of information about Jesus. This course gives a survey of the life and teaching of Christ — drawing on the four Gospels.

TH-3133 – Church Administration I

An investigation into basic leadership skills and a study of its application in the life of the vocational Christian worker.

TH-3143 – Hermeneutics

This course textbook is a trendsetter in hermeneutics. Today’s Christian element demands concise and complete hermeneutical teachings. The student will piece together the elements of Biblical interpretation that will add depth and accuracy to the message, lesson or devotion.

TH-3153 – God’s Truth

Introduces students to the goals and practices of biblical theology.  Students will gain an appreciation for how the New Testament unlocks the central message of scripture, and will be equipped for a lifetime of studying God’s Word.

TH-3163 – Old Testament Theology I

This course is a modified systematic model for use as a core text in the study of Theology. The text is up-to-date, readable and user friendly.

TH-3173 – Systematic Theology I

An introductory course of systematic theology. The student will study theology organized around categories such as the Word of God, Christ and redemption. It features a strong emphasis on the scriptural basis for each doctrine. The text is a clear writing with technical terms kept to a minimum.

TH-3183 – Systematic Theology II

A continuation of TH-3173

TH-3193 – Christ and the Old Testament

This course details a chronological study of the Messiah in the Old Testament. Special attention is given to describing the unfolding Old Testament concept of Messiah.

TH-31103 – Old Testament Healing

An intensive study of Yahweh as healer. The theme of the healer is illuminated in this comprehensive Old Testament study. Even the seasoned minister or pastor will benefit from the complexity of such a study.

TH-31133 – Theology of Counseling Families

This course contains useful summaries of the Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, and secular perspectives on marriage, family, divorce, reproductive technologies, division of domestic responsibilities, and the relationship of family to government. It also discusses approaches from these four perspectives to family ministry with children and youth, single parents, step families, families of gays and lesbians, the elderly, abusive families, and bereaved families. It contains a section of interpretations of specific Biblical passages on the family from the Old and New Testaments.

TH-31143 – Christology

This book is a unique blend of biblical scholarship, history of doctrine, and current theology.  The student will gain a better understanding of the person and work of Jesus Christ and His relevance today.
